Letter one
Hello, Sit down
Tea?
I used to write captions at 11pm convinced the business would fall over if I stopped.
It didn’t.
I’m a reinvention. ICU nurse. Then a global fashion business. Then coaching other women through theirs. Somewhere in there I was someone’s daughter, someone’s wife, someone’s mother, someone’s employee. Divorced. Reinvented. Reinvented again. The brochure is long. I’ll spare you most of it.
Now I run a health business. A coaching practice. And I’m quietly building a third thing - an engine of AI to run the marketing for both, so I can do the work that actually matters and stop choosing TikTok sounds at midnight like a woman possessed.
That’s Seize the YES. I named it back when I was saying yes when I meant no, and no when I meant yes. The name stuck. So did the lesson. I’m building it for myself first. If it works for me, it’ll work for you.
Around 60, something switched. I stopped caring whether I’d get cancelled - by judgment, by schoolyard mothers, by anyone who’d known me as someone else’s anything. I stopped performing the version of founder, mother, lover, daughter, sister I thought I was supposed to be. The one who shows up daily, replies in 12 minutes, and apologises for taking a weekend like it’s a personality flaw.
I started doing it my way. Quietly. Mostly in pyjamas. Often with a cuppa.
This room is for women who are tired of being judged and told to show up daily by someone who hasn’t yet lived the parts of life that make you stop wanting to. Who’d rather build than perform. Who are quietly closing tabs at 11pm wondering whether there’s another way.
There is. I’m running it.
What you’ll get if you stay:
Time for a cuppa, once a week.
One letter. Short. Honest. Sometimes a system I’m building. Sometimes a story from a previous life. Sometimes a rant about an industry that sells 11pm to women who’ve already done their time and would now like a sit down.
Slow. Specific. Mine.
I’m building this because I needed it. If it works for me, a 61-year-old woman running a health business, a coaching practice and her own life, it’ll work for you.
You’ll be the first to know.
Pull the door closed behind you. Stay as long as you like. Bring the cuppa.
Jules x
